email: kelly@zarconeassociates.com telephone: 716-854-8002 Admitted to Practice: New York, Florida, US Federal Court, United States Tax Court, United States Supreme Court Biography: Ms. Zarcone's general practice focuses on the preparation of Qualified Domestic Relations Orders (pension tax driven vehicle necessary for divorcees to receive funds from former spouses' retirement plans), pension and income tax issues, residential and commercial real estate, estate planning and administration, including elder care and financial issues. In addition to representing local small to medium sized business, Ms. Zarcone represents several multinational businesses, concentrating on US/Australian business ventures. Her background in corporate law, various aspects of taxation law, including pension tax, and real property interests provides a strong base for advising clients. Ms. Zarcone has served as an adjunct lecturer at the University at Buffalo Law School teaching estate planning to law students and coauthored the New York State Bar Association Course book entitled "Income Taxation of Decedents, Their Estates and Their Trusts" and the 2007 version of the course book for "A Comprehensive Review of Trust Planning and Drafting Techniques." She lectures regularly on various tax and estate issues for Lorman Educational Services, National Business Institute, and the Institute for Paralegal Education. Ms. Zarcone is also an adjunct professor teaching Health Care Law & Ethics at D'Youville College, Buffalo. Ms. Zarcone is involved in her community. She serves as chair of the Finance Committee on the Board of the Buffalo Music Hall of Fame and Museum. Recently, she served on the Board of the Women's Bar Association of the State of New York, as a local director in 2007-8 and on the Women Lawyers of Western New York Board in 2004-5. In 2004, she was elected to the Starpoint Central School District Board of Education where she worked tirelessly for the betterment of the school using prudent financial restraints until 2007. She has been a registered real estate broker for nearly 10 years. Before law school, Ms. Zarcone served active duty in the United States Army as a German linguist in Military Intelligence. She witnessed the the fall of communism in the late 1980s while stationed in Europe. In 1991, she received the Kuwait Liberation Medal, for Army combat service in the first Persian Gulf War, Operation Desert Storm. As an undergraduate, Ms. Zarcone studied at Oxford University, England (concentrating on tax as a barrier to trade). She continued her studies at Braunschwieg University in Germany and the University at Buffalo through her undergraduate career, graduating in just two and a half years with a 3.9 grade point average. On graduating law school with honors, Ms. Zarcone went to work for some of the most respected law firms in Western New York. After gaining significant experience in her specialized fields of law, she set out to serve clients in a smaller market with the tenacity, integrity, and respect given the most influential clients at larger firms.
